As the owners of Rivonia B&B, Gerard and I have seen many persons arrive in Johannesburg seeking medical help.
We recall an English tourist who’d had an accident in Mozambique and needed emergency surgery. There were those guests from as far afield as Zimbabwe and Kenya, who required chemotherapy in Sandton. We can recount many tales such as these. Under these traumatic circumstances we’ve had the privilege of providing accommodation and supporting the family members of those being treated in hospital.
Since Gerard and I both hail from small ‘dorpies’, we also know how intimidating a city can be; especially if one is in a foreign country. At our guest house our managers and staff make every effort to lessen the strain our guests find themselves under.

Cannot praise it enough
Gerard, Jill and their staff are just superb. I stayed here for a month, mostly alone as my husband was in hospital nearby. I was deeply concerned about his health, shocked at what had happened, fighting with the insurance company and 1000s of miles from home – yet their kindness, care and thoughtfulness got me through it. The deeply caring Tau and Blessings drove me back and forth to the hospital daily and even visited the patient on their days off. Words cannot express my gratitude to all at Rivonia. We look forward to returning there, fully recovered, just to thoroughly enjoy all that this wonderful place can offer.

Getting the details just right with a personal touch
My husband and I stayed here for a week at the end of May when I had an unexpected medical situation that required care at the nearby Sunninghill Hospital.I believe my husband said it best when he said that we were treated as if we were the only guests, despite the fact that they were fully booked all while we were there. I don’t know how they managed it, except that each employee seemed genuinely invested in our well-being..

Cannot be improved
I stayed in Rivonia B&B for more than 3 weeks when my wife was treated in the nearby Sunninghill hospital after a very serious traffic accident.
From the very beginning I felt big sympathy for our difficult situation and I received every support the owners and the staff were able to provide.

Wonderful peaceful stay
My husband had a very serious operation at Sunninghill hospital. Staying at Rivonia Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place to stay. Close to hospital, shops and restaurants. The garden is peaceful and I managed to get rest during my husband’s recovery
